Reviewer Comments on Rating:

The Little Book of Kink was a very quick and easy read. This book is definitely for beginners and would not hold a lot of appeal for those who have done extensive reading about BDSM and kink. Dr. Jess covers the basics of spicing up the bedroom but book focuses mostly on heterosexual couples. I was impressed by the straightforward nature of the writing, she summarizes well and gives detail without being overwhelming or leaving out critical information. The book takes the beginner through common misconceptions, negotiating boundaries, safety, kinky suggestions, and a brief discussion about the importance of aftercare. I enjoyed the little suggestions she makes for different scenarios demonstrated in the book. I also appreciate that for each kinky suggestion, they include safety considerations.

I think this book is a great first book to give someone who might be interested in kink but knows little about it. It takes the reader through enough of the basics without being intimidating and keeps the subject accessible and interesting.
